Tracey Donaldson, MSW, IPC, ACC

Being attentive is at the core of how I work. Attentiveness has two meanings – being keenly aware and perceptive, as well as being caring and empathetic. I bring both elements of attentiveness to my coaching practice. My approach to coaching and to life is to honour and nurture people where they are while gently encouraging them to build skills and competencies to move to where they want to be.

I hold a Masters degree in Social Work, am an Integral Professional Coach, and an Associate Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation.

Life coaching vs therapy

What is life coaching?

We’re born to be connected to ourselves and to others. And alignment between our intentions and our actions can help us to move more powerfully toward a life purpose that brings greater fulfilment and a sense of achievement.

Through coaching, clients work toward tailored and measurable developmental objectives. They become better able to move forward on their intentions through an action-based program where they practice their new way of relating to an issue or topic. This is central to my life coaching practice.

What is therapy?

Therapy is a healing process where the client works with a healthcare professional to resolve concerns that are often rooted in their past.

Areas of focus include issues such as  trauma, mental health, and associated behaviours and relationships.

Oftentimes, the hope is to resolve past issues in order to create a happier and more stable present and future. I do not provide therapy services.

My operating philosophy is from a place of resiliency. While we face challenges as human beings, when we are supported in our growth and development we can hone, expand, and leverage the resources that we possess to move forward in positive directions.
